Working for yourself can be lonely. And when you aren't particularly oriented toward the business side of things, you can feel isolated, even helpless. Not to mention overwhelmed.

So it's natural to reach for help, and there's no shortage of quick-fix programs with names like "7 Steps to 6 Figures" or "24 hour Millionaire's Club." You've probably tried a few of these. If you have, you know that they leave you lonelier and more confused than when you started. Usually they're more about "upselling" you to a more expensive program rather than helping you take the baby steps that will get income and joy coming in.

Shaboom County is different. For one thing, it's a community of people like you who love their work but aren't wild about business. For another, you'll never be badgered to buy something else. And you won't be drowned in promotional email.

Do you get frustrated trying to solve these common self-employment problems?

  • Ugh! Refining your niche. You know you're supposed to have one, but how do you know which on is the right one? And what if you're a Renaissance person whose passions and gifts don't fit so neatly into a little package?

  • Money. Arrgh. You don't want your work to be about the money, but money does matter. How do you put it into perspective so you can charge what you're worth and feel good about it?

  • Isolation. Ouch. While there are aspects to your work that work great when you are alone, not having anywhere to turn gets old. And as much as they want to support you, sometimes friends and family members just don't get it–or they don't have the knowledge and experience you need.

  • Overwhelm. You know that saying, "It's always something"? Well, it's especially true of self-employment. There really is always another something that you couldn't have anticipated and don't know how to deal with.

  • Marketing. How do you do it? What can you do that won't cost the moon? Is it possible to promote yourself without being sleazy or cheesy?

A home for you and your business.

Shaboom County is a warm, welcoming, and deeply resourced community where you can find support and encouragement. From the County Library (with dozens of articles and audios) to Town Hall (where members gather), it's truly a home for you and your business.
